Whilst brainstorming and completing my storyboard I had some locations in particular in mind. I went to take some recce shots during my afternoon I was off timetable today:
For my exterior shots I had a local green area in mind. The area is a public park, including a play park, football pitches and general greenery. I plan to use some of the foresty areas for my running scenes and I want to use one of the bridges for the conversation. The place is generally busy on weekends, when I intend to film, with children and their families during the middle of the day and dog walkers throughout.

The park is about 15-20 minutes away on foot from where I live, making the journey there and back with equipment easier. It also means that I will be able to come home should there be any complications during the shoot and for food and other resources.
I struggled a bit more with deciding a location for my interior shots. The kitchen is of course OK as there is not any other option, however I am quite lucky as my kitchen is also quite light and contains many mains sockets even if artificial lighting was needed.

The bedroom however was more of a dilemma. The bedrooms in my house would be difficult to use for filming purposes as they would give away things about the character that would not fit, for example purple walls or children's curtains. Another factor would be the lights, as there are issues with space and mains sockets.
I need a neutral space, so nothing unwanted is suggested about the character, and somewhere with enough space and mains sockets to be able to use the lighting more effectively and safely. To overcome this I have concocted an alternative. I plan to use my living room, as there is a sofa which can extend to single bed size. I can put this up against neutral walls and dress the set with sheets, books and clothes so to appear as a bedroom.
